Situated between the Sculpture Garden and Stamper Commons, the Schotters Music Center is located in the heart of the CA campus.
Dedicated in June 2005 and named in honor of former Trustees and CA parents Nancy and Barney Schotters, the Schotters Music Center symbolizes the importance of music to the Colorado Academy community. The building houses the choir room, a large ensemble room, recording and composition studios, Lower School music classrooms, a dance studio, and many private music lesson studios. It is also a venue for ceremonies and recitals.
Of special interest in the building is a commissioned stained glass window, “Synesthesia.” It is a visual depiction of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and adorns the west side of the choir room, where it is visible across campus.
