Apply Now for the 2019-2020 school year! The initial Application Form takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is due as soon as possible, or at least one week prior to an applicant's class visit. There is no application fee.
*If you are reapplying from a past admission season, please submit a new application form and then contact us to review the requirements of the process.
Please also note that separate forms are required for admission and financial aid, though the application cycles overlap. For more information regarding the financial aid process, please click HERE.
As part of the application process, parents are required to participate in 1) a Campus Tour and 2) a Parent Interview.
Tours: there are three ways to satisfy the tour requirement—
If a parent has toured in a prior year, no new tour is required.
The tour can also be fulfilled by attending one of the Parent Preview Days.
Alternatively, a private tour may be scheduled for the same day as the Parent Interview.
Parents may schedule the Parent Interview for the same day as their child’s shadow day (typically at 8:30 a.m. or 12:15 p.m.), or, if scheduling difficulties arise, on any day following the student shadow day, but before January 31. Parent Interviews take approximately 30-45 minutes. CA understands that in some situations only one parent may be able to attend. If a tour is scheduled for the same day, please allow at least 1 ½ to 2 hours.
Please note: we can customize visits for families applying to more than one division (i.e., Lower, Middle or Upper School) so that the visit starts and ends at the same time for all applicants; please contact us at 303-914-2513 to arrange a multi-divisional Parent Interview and student visits.
Please contact Paige Siemers at 303-914-2513 to schedule. You will receive an email confirming the visit which outlines the details of the day.
The Middle School Student Visit is designed to give applicants a "Day in the Life of CA" experience. Applicants attend classes and eat lunch with a current CA student as well as interview with a teacher. Visit days may be scheduled on most days that CA is in session. The initial Application Form must be submitted at least one week prior to the visit, or before December 15, whichever comes first.
6th grade applicants have the option to visit with their peers in the 5th grade from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., which includes a tour of the Middle School, OR visit with a 6th grade student in the Middle School from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
7th and 8th grade applicants visit with their peers in the Middle School from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Please note: we can customize visits for families applying to more than one division (i.e., Lower, Middle or Upper School) so that the visit starts and ends at the same time for all applicants; please contact us at 303-914-2513 to arrange a multi-divisional Parent Interview and student visits.
The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is a required step of the application process for Grades 6 through 12 (and an option for applicants to Grade 5). Please note that CA will accept results from the SSAT in place of the ISEE.
For more information on the exam and to register, use the link below. Please call the Admission Office at 303-914-2513 to request a waiver code if the $120 registration fee is a hardship.
Student Video Submission (Optional for Applicants to Grades 6-12)
To the applicant: Please prepare a short video about yourself, and address one of the prompts below. The Admission Committee prefers a video that is less than two minutes and under 200 megabytes. Videos can be funny or serious; the goal is to allow your personality to emerge. Thank you, and have fun!
Share a story about an act of kindness or an act of courage that you have witnessed sometime in the last year.
Tell us how a friend, classmate, sibling, grandparent or cousin would describe your personality and what they most value about you as a person. Feel free to interview family members.
Demonstrate a special talent or skill of which you are proud.
There is an upload feature within the online application portal where you may post your video. Please call us at 303-914-2516 with any questions.
Separate online forms are required for admission and financial aid, though the application cycles overlap. We recommend starting the Financial Aid process after January 1, and completing the process by February 15, to be considered in the first round of Financial Aid decisions. Families applying after the February 15 deadline will be considered for the Financial Aid waitlist.
Middle School decisions for Grades 6-8 will be available online at 4:00 p.m. MST on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. The Admission Committee reviews all applications completed by the January 31 application deadline.
Please note: students applying after the February 27 notification date will be considered for admission from the wait pool if a space becomes available. There can be wait pool movement in the spring or summer, and we encourage you to apply if interested.
