  • RECOMMENDATIONS/TRANSCRIPTS

Please send recommendation/transcript requests to the appropriate faculty/staff at your child’s school.  CA accepts recommendations completed online through schoolrecs.com. This is our preferred method for receiving recommendation forms and transcripts. Schoolrecs.com notifies the recommenders and school administrators of due dates, communicates with the applicant when recommendations and transcripts have been completed, and allows recommendations to be sent electronically, confidentially, and securely.
    • A recommendation from your child's current teacher
    • Transcripts and School Records
    • Optional principal/counselor recommendation

  • APPLICANT TESTING

For Applicants to K-5, one of the following tests is required
    • Differential Ability Scales (DAS), or
    • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC), or
    • ISEE exam for Grade 5 applicants only; the ISEE may be taken in lieu of cognitive testing (please see APPLICANT TESTING for Grades 6-12 for more information).
Families may use an evaluator of their own choice and request that the results be sent directly to Colorado Academy, or choose one of the evaluators from the Denver Area Testing Consortium. This testing is a cognitive assessment conducted on a one-to-one basis and is not designed to be a comprehensive evaluation, but rather a screening for admission purposes.   The DATC fee is $170; please call the CA Admission Office to request assistance if the fee is a hardship.
