  Director of Libraries Allison Peters Jensen joined the Colorado Academy community as the Lower School Librarian in 2011, after 10 years as a Children’s and Teen Services Librarian at Jefferson County Public Library. She received her BA at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, N.Y., majoring in French language & literature and Sociology. Jensen became the Director of Libraries in 2016 while continuing in her role as Lower School Librarian. Through professional development, she has been focused on the role of libraries in the future. In 2017, she took part in Harvard’s Graduate School of Education program on Library Leadership in the Digital Age.  Additionally, with a team from CA, she attended a series of workshops with the global design company IDEO and used the design thinking method to reimagine libraries for the future. While Jensen can often be found reading or listening to a good book, she also spends a lot of time camping, hiking, biking, gardening, and walking her dog.

  Allie Bronston joined the CA community as the Middle School Librarian in 2013 and shifted into the Upper School Librarian role in 2024. Born and raised in Denver, she returned to Colorado after receiving her BA in English at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and went on to earn her Master of Library & Information Science at the University of Denver. In addition to reading, Allie enjoys cooking, gardening, outdoor adventures, and spending time with her family.

  Mary Leyva joined the CA community in 2011 as the Raether Library & Technology Assistant. She received her BA from the University of Colorado in Boulder, majoring in Spanish Language and Literature. Leyva went on to earn her master's in Library and Information Science from Emporia State University in 2018 and continues the family tradition of librarianship by following her parents into the profession. Through professional development, she has been focused on building a diverse and inclusive collection, as well as creating curious and adventurous lifelong readers. Mary enjoys reading, writing, trying out new recipes, and adventuring with her family in the great outdoors.

  Jordan Knowles

  Jordan Knowles joined CA’s Lower School as Library Assistant in spring 2024, from positions at the U.S. Geological Survey Library and Englewood Public Library. She holds a BA in History from the University of Nevada, Reno and an MA in Japanese Language and Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder. Jordan has also served as an Assistant Japanese Instructor, an Instructor of English in Japan, a graduate researcher, and as assistant to the history curator in the Nevada State Museum. She is delighted to mentor Lower School students as they embark on their research journeys and delve into the worlds of both fiction and non-fiction.

  Becci Marzonie

  Becci Marzonie is a professional ceramicist, outdoor educator, and lover of books. She began working with the CA Summer Camp Program in 2019. Later that year, she joined the Library Department at CA as Raether Library Assistant. In 2020, she began teaching Middle School Ceramics. With more than 15 years experience in making ceramics, she is able to share her joy and passion for all things clay with students. Marzonie's personal ceramics work can be found in shops in Denver, across the country, and online. Outside of the pottery studio she can be found camping, snowboarding, scuba diving, and floating any river for which she can get a permit.
