Spring sports are in full swing at Colorado Academy and as we enter postseason, six teams are poised for a successful playoff run.
The
Girls Golf team, who also won their region on Monday, May 4 at Raccoon Creek Golf Course, will play in the two-day state tournament in Carbondale, beginning
Monday, May 18.
The No. 16 seeded
Boys Lacrosse team will take on Cherry Creek High School on Wednesday,
May 6 at 6 p.m. in a playoff game at Stutler Bowl Stadium. And on Friday, May 8, the No. 3 seeded
Girls Lacrosse team will play in the second round state playoff game at
4 p.m. on Slater Field against the winner of the Fruita Monument and Ralston Valley game.
No. 1 seeded
Girls Soccer will play on
Saturday, May 9 at 2 p.m. on Slater Field against the winner of Faith Christian and the Pinnacle, who will play on Firman Field on Friday, May 8 at 3 p.m.
It’s unsure if Mustangs Baseball will make it into the playoffs after a thrilling 8-7 win over Sheridan High School on Monday, May 4. The team is awaiting the State Playoff Seeding Committee decision and the results will be updated when they come in.
Says Director of Athletics Bill Hall, “This spring, student athletes and their coaches have been working extremely hard at their chosen sport, meanwhile balancing their other responsibilities and interests. The Mustangs are creating a reputation of fighting until the final whistle.”
