Lower School After-School Enrichment Offerings
Each trimester, Colorado Academy offers a variety of after-school activities for our Lower School families. Below is a sample of the Fall 2023 offerings.

Chess, Grades K-5, $250
Mondays through November 27, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Students will learn chess strategy and tactics, as well as etiquette. Beginner and Intermediate players are welcome. Depending on your child's ability and knowledge of the game, the instructor plans lessons so that all chess players are learning, being challenged, and playing at their level. The class is taught by National Master and five-time Denver Chess Champion Todd Bardwick.
KidStage: Tangled, Grades: 1-5, $310
Tuesdays through November 7, 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Rapunzel, locked away by her mother, longs to see the outside world. One day the mysterious Flynn appears in her life and she gets that chance. What will her life become as she faces ruffians, dodges palace guards, and solves a kingdom-wide mystery? Join Rapunzel and Flynn on the adventure of a lifetime that teaches us to follow our dreams, no matter what!
Wonder Workshop: 3D Printing with Mr. Reynolds, Grades: 2-5, $250
Wednesdays through November 29, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Learn how to make your ideas come to life with 3D Printing. Students in this class will learn basic skills and concepts in Tinkercad—a free, online, design software that students can even access from home. Students will put their imaginations to the test as they design keychains, fridge magnets, toys, & more.
Wonder Workshop: Minecraft EDU with Mr. Reynolds, Grades: 1-5, $250
Thursdays through December 7, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Get your pick axes and potions ready as we explore, create, and collaborate in Minecraft! Students in this course will be guided through the Minecraft EDU universe. This game-based platform allows students to unlock their imagination and develop STEAM skills such as circuitry, coding, problem-solving, & more.
