Join Colorado Academy Inclusivity Director Sarah Wright for an informal Zoom discussion about this visionary author’s masterpiece, which pulls you and the protagonist through time to face the horrors of slavery and explore the impacts of racism, sexism, and white supremacy then and now. Butler’s first-person account is modeled on slave narratives. Butler was an African-American science fiction author. In 1995, she became the first science-fiction writer to receive a MacArthur Fellowship.
