The triple red doors at the main entrance of CA's Athletic Center welcome student-athletes of all ages.
The CA Athletic Center received a major expansion and renovation as the third of four buildings in the See it Through capital campaign. The Field House was completed in 2018, and CA celebrated the opening of the full Athletic Center in 2019.
The 66,000-square-foot Athletic Center is home to all sports and P.E. activities for CA’s students, often houses enthusiastic All-School Assemblies, and can serve as a venue for concerts and other school community events. The space includes a 16,000-square-foot Field House; four regulation-size basketball courts and eight volleyball courts; a climbing center, including a 40-foot climbing wall with 16 top-rope routes and an additional bouldering area; a student-centered strength and conditioning facility; and three classroom spaces for team meetings and film sessions.
Architectural and design features include court flooring and bleacher wood recycled from the Coors McHugh Gymnasium (built in 1982), a concession area that doubles as a refueling station for student-athletes during the school day, trophy cases highlighting past and present achievements, study booths, and championship banners hanging overhead that extend the length of the building.
