CA’s Boys Tennis swept the Region 1 4A Boys State Regional Tennis Tournament at Colorado Academy today, winning all doubles and singles matches.

 

Winning in doubles were junior Brent Edwards and freshman Quinn Bermingham; junior Steven Mitchell and freshman Jordan Wagner; junior John Barron and junior Ty Fairbairn; and senior William McDermid and senior Peter Hillary. Junior Mac Mease, senior Fletcher Kerr, and junior Noah Forman won in singles.

 

Says Boys Head Tennis Coach, Brian Singer, “We came in as favorites and lived up to the expectation. It’s been an eventful tournament.”

 

Yesterday, Colorado Academy senior and team captain, Fletcher Kerr, became the second boys tennis player in Colorado history to have a Golden Match, not allowing a single point in his match against West High School. Kerr has only lost two matches this season.

 

The Region 1 4A champions will go on to attend State in Pueblo on Oct. 9 through Oct. 11.
