Service Learning and the Birds and Bees
We had a great service learning day AND don't miss next Tuesday's PA Meeting/SPEAK presentation
I heard many positive comments from our students about their various service learning experiences. While the type of service varied, the outcomes related to learning how to serve others and of feeling good about one's contribution appeared fairly universal. We also got lucky in having a good weather day. We will have two more opportunities later in the year to continue these efforts.
Next Tuesday, we will have our next Parent Association meeting in the Middle School community room at 8:30. After a few announcements and a question and answer opportunity with me, Dr. Jennifer Woods will start her presentation on Adolescent Sexuality. I have attached the information from the SPEAK brochure below. I look forward to seeing you at our meeting.

Adolescent Sexuality: What Parents Need to Know

Adolescence is an important time for young people’s understanding of themselves and their sexuality. Dr. Jennifer Woods, a pediatrician who is board certified in both adolescent medicine and general pediatrics as well as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics-Adolescent Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, will help you understand your child’s development. She will cover a range of topics, including a candid discussion of how to talk about sexuality and what to cover, STIs, statistics about adolescent sexuality, and helpful parenting guidelines.
