The first of seven arched beams were placed in the Field House today during Phase I of the athletics facility construction. The rest of the beams will be installed over the weekend.

 

Slated for completion in late February, the Field House, which extends east of the current gym, will house the coaches’ offices as well as the locker rooms. If fundraising is successful and construction of Phase II begins in March, the Field House will house P.E. and athletic activities.

 

Says Head of Operations, Jesse Schumacher: “The next five days is when it really gets put together. That’s the biggest milestone. Then, we’re adding onto existing locker rooms and renovating them completely."

 

Construction on the Field House is part of the “See It Through” campaign, which began in the spring of 2017. Through funds raised in the “See It Through” campaign, Colorado Academy completed renovations on the Welborn House and the Ponzio Arts Center. Both buildings opened in January of 2017.
