Bunny New Girl’s Lesson for the First Day of School
Sometimes the start of school can be a little intimidating, even downright frightening for new students.  At Colorado Academy, we strive to be a caring, kind, and inclusive community. In our opening All-School assembly on Tuesday, I will welcome our new students and remind our current students to remember what their first day felt like.  I encourage our community to go out of their way to welcome our new students.  Over my ten years at CA, it is always incredibly heartwarming to see how kind our students can be.

I came across this fantastic short film by Natalie van den Dungen that is mandatory back to school viewing. Watch this short three-minute film with your child, no matter what your child’s age or gender. It’s a great reminder of the power of kindness and how the smallest actions can help create new friendships and build a stronger community.

I hope to see you all at the Back-to-School Picnic on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. It’s a great event to connect with others and welcome our new families and students. If you haven’t already done so, please rsvp here.
