Girls Golf Wins Tourney, Sets Record
Congratulations to the Colorado Academy Girls Golf team, which won the Willie DiLoreto Memorial Invitational on Monday with a team score of 224, the best in the tournament’s history.
Says golf coach Beth Folsom, “It was great to have all of our kids within 3 shots of each other; that is definitely a mark of a very good team. We have played well all year, and yesterday was an example of how competitive we are.”
On Monday, May 1, 2017 starting at 10:30 a.m., the girls will go on to compete in the Ashley Forey Invitational at Rolling Hills in Golden, the largest invitational in the state. There, they will compete against 4A and 5A schools.
“We are definitely gearing up for regionals and state. The girls are really focused toward competing well in those events,” says Folsom.
