Congratulations to the Colorado Academy students who participated in the St. Mary’s and Kent Denver Model United Nations competition on November 12, 2016 at St. Mary’s.

 

The students who participated were ninth graders Wyatt Spruell and Kayleigh Milligan, who represented Egypt; and Grace Fuselier and Camille Doherty, who represented Angola.

 

During the competition students argued, debated and eventually led a group of 20 students toward a solution regarding two topics: “Restoring Peace in South Sudan,” and “Ending Sectarian Violence in Libya.”

 

The students were recognized with ‘Best Delegate’ or ‘Honorable Mention’ awards for their leadership, knowledge of each conflict, diplomacy, teamwork and having an open mind when looking for a solution to their conflict.
