LS Students Spend Weekend in Golden Gate SP

A group of 12 students in grades 3 through 5 spent the weekend in Golden Gate Canyon State Park as participants in the Outdoor Program. The purpose of the Lower School trips is to awaken enthusiasm for the outdoors and to create connections through exploration and play.

Students began with a trip to the visitors center, where they handled and identified various animal pelts. Following the visitors center, the group hiked the Mule Deer Trail through a forest of yellow Aspen leaves, at the height of their color change. On Saturday night, the group learned to set-up tents, built a fire to roast marshmallows, and spent a clear, starry night in tents.
