2016 Faculty & Staff Award Recipients

Congratulations to Stephanie Stone, Sara Monterroso, Elissa Wolf-Tinsman, Holley McBroom, and Alicia Knox, who were all award recipients during the Faculty & Staff Appreciation Reception on Monday, April 18, 2016.

Third grade teacher Stephanie Stone, Middle School Spanish teacher Sara Monterroso, and Upper School social studies teacher Elissa Wolf-Tinsman all received the Francis Newton Outstanding Faculty award, which recognizes teachers who model teaching excellence, as well as exemplary service on behalf of students and colleagues.

Upper School math and science teacher Holley McBroom received the Connie Adcock Award for Inspirational Teaching, which recognizes a teacher who ignites in students a lifelong love of learning and creative expression through the use of innovative teaching methods.

Lower School Music teacher Alicia Knox received the Yoeman Fisher Teaching Excellence Award, which recognizes the accomplishments of an outstanding teacher.

Other faculty members, including Chris Marchetti, Charity Smith, Angela Hottinger, and Diane Simmons, were also recognized during the event for participating in the Faculty Advancement process.

Upper School math and computer science teachers Chris Marchetti and Charity Smith became Senior Instructors, given to teachers who have completed five year of instruction.

Lower School art teacher Angela Hottinger became a Preceptor, given to teachers who have completed four years of teaching as a Senior Instructor.

Lower School science teacher Diane Simmons became a Master Teacher, given to teachers who have completed five years of teaching as a Preceptor.
