New Pool House Set for February Completion
New Pool House to be Complete Next Month
CA’s updated outdoor pool maintenance facility, now under construction across from Firman Field, is scheduled to be completed in the next 30 days (weather permitting). The structure will house new water filtration and heating systems, as well as two restrooms. CA students in grades Kindergarten through six use the pool at the beginning and end of every school year as part of CA’s Physical Education program. It’s also used during the summer months by day campers and by students in the Horizons Program. “This project provides a much-needed improvement to our outdoor swim program,” says CA Director of Operations Jesse Schumacher. “The pool gets constant use for at least five months out of the year.” Funding for the project comes from the school’s annual capital budget. Once warmer weather arrives, Schumacher says crews will install new plantings around the facility, and they’ll replace the old chain-link fence with a wrought iron one. Restroom facilities will be available not just for swimmers, but also for fans at athletic competitions and for people attending events such as commencement.
