CA Teacher Wins Gold Medals at World Rowing Masters Regatta

Colorado Academy Upper School English teacher Anne Strobridge earned two gold medals in the 2015 World Rowing Masters Regatta, which took place September 10-13 in Hazewinkel, Belgium. She won in the Women’s 8 in the 60-65 age category and in Mixed – both men and women – in the 65-70 age category.

The competition featured rowers from the ‘76, ‘80 and '84 Olympics, as well as national team members from all over the world.

Says Anne, who served on a team of eight in seven total races: “I was fully prepared physically to race them, but nothing could have prepared me for the mental challenge. The only way I could see if I could do it was by actually doing it, and that I could, winning gold twice, left me as much surprised as glad about bringing home the hardware."

Anne who has been rowing for 10 years, has led a number of rowing interims at Colorado Academy under the auspices of Mile High Rowing Club where she serves as an assistant coach.

Congratulations, Anne!
