Colorado Academy senior Nick Bain is getting coast-to-coast attention on National Public Radio's All Things Considered! Bain, a rising senior, conducted an “experiment” during the last trimester of his junior year to measure how his time during a school day was spent, and to see if that time was spent differently if he was a self-taught and self-directed learner.

By keeping a daily journal and staying in contact with his teachers, CA allowed Bain to conduct the experiment. What he learned surprised him…including a new view on the value of school and the role of teachers as “curators” of education. Bain returns to CA for his senior year (on campus!) as school begins on September 1.
