CA Student Takes Silver in Fencing at Pan Am Games

Competing as part of the Team USA, Colorado Academy freshman Sachin Mehta took the silver medal at the Pan American Games (Youth/Vet) in Peru, in the Y-14 classification in fencing on Friday, August 7, 2015.  The Pan American Fencing Confederation hosted the games at the Polideportivo Centro de Alto Rendimiento-VIDENA in Lima. At this year’s games, the Americans took Gold, Silver, and a Bronze in the event.
 
Mehta, a Sabre fencer, trains at the Denver Fencing Center under owner and coach Nathan Anderson. Anderson is a Denver native who competed through high school and in college. During his senior year, Anderson was the University of Pennsylvania Fencing Team Captain, an All-American, and first team All Ivy League selection in foil. Anderson has created more than 40 Nationals medalists in all fencing weapons.
