Girls Soccer Takes State Title for Second Consecutive Year

The Colorado Academy Girls Varsity Soccer Team took the state title for the second consecutive year tonight after their 1-0 win over the Jefferson Academy Jaguars in the Class 3A Championships.

Senior Marin McCoy delivered the only point during the first half, despite many close calls from both sides. Marin, like other seniors on the team, has played in three championship games in four years.

Says Athletic Director Bill Hall, “Both teams played really well. I think tonight’s game really is great for the kids because of how hard they worked and how hard their coaches worked. It’s great for the community as well, and just fun to see the girls be victorious.”

This marks the fourth year the Girls Soccer Team has won the Class 3A Championships. They also won in 1999, 2003, and 2014. Great job, girls! Go Mustangs!
