Girls Tennis Wins No. 2 and 3 Singles, No. 1 Doubles

Colorado Academy Girls Varsity Tennis won both No. 2 and No. 3 singles matches as well as a No. 1 doubles match today, the first day of the Class 5A and 4A Girls State Tennis competition.

Congratulations to first round winners Savannah Mease, who defeated Eaton in No. 2 singles; Morgan Bullen, who defeated Steamboat Springs in No. 3 singles; and Claudia Morse and Sage Lochhead, who defeated Air Academy in No. 1 doubles.

Tara Edwards, won her first round 6-0, 6-1 and then lost her quarterfinal match 6-7, 1-6.  Sammy Kelley and Amelia Lochhead lost to Holy Family in No. 2 doubles; Hope Cherubini and Amanda Funk lost to Cheyenne Mountain in No. 3 doubles; and Christina Bear and Grace Ingebretsen lost to Steamboat Springs in No. 4 doubles.

Says coach Robert Ulrich, "We're very proud of the girls. Go Mustangs!"
