Film Students Win 'Best of Fest'
Congratulations to the following students who won Best of the Fest in the Fourth Annual CA Film Festival in the following categories:
- Best Horror: “Bloedige” by sophomores Bryce Okazaki, Arthur Wright, Nikolai Lyssogor, and Evan Reiter;
- Best Experimental: “A Breath” by senior Samuel Minton;
- Best Silent Comedy: “Giant James” by sophomores Garret Sutter, Ben Cole, James Jensen, Jordan Soberg, and Seth Jack;
- Best Narrative Short: “The Sublime Pact of Fine Adventurers” by sophomores Tyler McCoy, Dana Greenleaf, Bryce Okazaki, Pepijn Van Ede;
- Best Mockumentary: “Twilight” by juniors Abel Ramirez and Turner Selby;
- Best Special Effects: “Misunderstood Mesoamericans” by senior Samuel Minton;
- Best Editing: “Waking Dream” by sophomores Pepijn Van Ede, Bobby Kidder, Tyler McCoy and Cameron Pollock;
- Best Direction: “Walk of Shame” by senior Thomas Brazier;
- Best Individual Effort: “A Day in the Life of Christian Hyatt” by junior Christian Hyatt
- Best Group Effort: “Die Rand” by sophomores Bryce Okazaki, Tyler McCoy, Jack Cmil, and Arthur Wright;
- Best Comedic Narrative Short: “How NOT To Talk To Girls” by sophomores Evan Reiter, Jack Cmil, Noah Mushkin, Cameron Pollock and Christian Luskey.
The winning films, which were selected by Middle and Upper School filmmaking teacher Gwylym Cano; Upper School photography teacher Jesse Myers; Fine and Performing Arts chair Angel Vigil; and Upper School English teacher Brett James, were screened at the All-School Arts Festival on Monday, May 4, 2015.
