Girls Soccer and Lacrosse Make CA History
For the first time in Colorado Academy history, both Girls Varsity Soccer and Girls Varsity Lacrosse teams are ranked No. 1 in a 3A preseason poll by the Colorado High School Activities Association.
The No. 1 ranking for Girls Lacrosse follows a 3-0 start to the season, which began March 7 with a game against then-No. 9 Regis Jesuit. The team has won 8 state championships in ’84, ’86, ’87, ’88, ’89, ’91, ’92, and '00.
The No. 1 ranking for Girls Soccer comes after the state title win last May, when CA beat The Classical Academy 1-0, winning the title for the first time since 2003. The team also won the championship in '99.
The CA Boys Lacrosse team is also ranked among the top 10 in the state in the preseason poll. The poll is voted upon by coaches and select media members.
