Reminder of CA's Snow Policies and Procedures

Colorado Academy Families:

Based on continued snow and predicted difficult winter driving conditions, here is a reminder of Colorado Academy’s procedures regarding school operations during inclement weather.

Colorado Academy makes every effort to remain open and to continue operating as long as we can safely do so. Safety of our students, parents, faculty and staff is our primary concern.

If parents have any concerns about traveling to or from CA and independently decide to pick up students early from school, or keep children home from school, we respect that decision. It is not our policy to begin school late, to close school early, or run buses early because of the difficulties that causes for working families.

While we expect school to be in session tomorrow, Monday, February 23, 2015, here is a reminder about how families are notified if CA closes due to inclement weather. A snow closure would be posted on the school home page (www.coloradoacademy.org).  Additionally, the closure would be announced on the following Denver media: 850 KOA Radio and Television Channels 2, 4, 7, 9 and 13. In addition, a school closure message will be recorded on the following number: 303-986-1501. These messages should be in place by 6:00 a.m. CA will normally follow the lead of Jefferson County Schools,  as our location places us within the county’s transportation route. Therefore, if Jefferson County Schools are publicizing a county-wide closure, CA will likely close, as well. Sports cancellations are also posted on the CA website.

Please stay informed and travel safely.
