Peyton Manning Visits CA

Peyton Manning, quarterback for the Denver Broncos and 2007 Super Bowl Champion, visited Colorado Academy today to thank students for supporting the PeyBack Foundation, which seeks to promote the future success of disadvantaged youths by providing leadership and growth opportunities for children at risk.

Manning visited Jessica Ohly's 4th grade classroom and Chip Lee's Upper School advisory, speaking about the importance of school, family, hard work and perseverance. He said that he faced many challenges after his spine injury, which happened in 2011 and led to his release from the Indianapolis Colts, but that patience and hard work allowed him to recover.

Students asked questions of the five-time MVP, who also attended a Pre-K-12 independent school--Isidore Newman in New Orleans. Manning told students that while there, he didn't play organized sports until 7th grade, and he encouraged students to put away the technology and enjoy the outdoors.
