Erik Weihenmayer, a Golden local and blind adventure athlete, began kayaking the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon on September 7. He is best known for scaling the Himalayan Peaks, but Erik is also an accomplished white water kayaker. Erik uses his displays of incredible determination to inspire others, which is why the expedition's secondary objective is to use this adventure for an even more ambitious  goal: to encourage one million people to pledge to live a "No Barriers Life."
