CA Releases Outdoor Program Schedule

Colorado Academy has released its schedule of more than 25 optional weekend adventures for CA students from grades 1-12 through the school’s Experiential and Outdoor Education program.  The trips range from introducing children to their first camping experience by pitching a tent on CA’s campus, to snow shoeing, mountain biking fly fishing, rock climbing and Level 1 Avalanche Training.  All courses, costs, and registration links can be found on the CA website under Programs>Experiential Ed> Outdoor Ed. This year’s schedule brings back some of the most popular trips in the past, including Hut Trips for Upper School students, but also provides many more opportunities for Lower School students to experience the outdoors.

Says CA Outdoor Ed Director Forbes Cone,   "The goal of the lower school outdoor program is to foster a love for the outdoors. Young kids are naturally drawn to explore, breathe fresh air, and try new things. Living in Denver, we have excellent access to state parks, open space, climbing crags and hiking trails at our doorstep. The line-up of Lower School trips gives ample opportunity to sample a variety of appropriate activities for grades 1 − 5 ranging from on-campus camping, a naturalist led trip to the Carson Nature Center and climbing at Earth Treks gym. All trips are designed for beginners and my hope is that students come away inspired to head outside with friends and family."  Click here for a trip catalogue.
