To the CA Community:

 

We in the Colorado Academy community are shocked and horrified at Friday’s murder of 12 people at the Century Theatre in Aurora.  The imponderable event that killed and injured so many is beyond our comprehension. As parents, we can imagine no more devastating occurrence. At this time, while all of us are deeply impacted by this event, we know of no member of the CA community that has sustained physical injury.  We offer our deepest sympathies to the families of those killed and to all those injured and traumatized. From past events, we know that what is best for children in these situations is to provide them with a great deal of care and reassurance, to keep routines that are as close to normal as possible, and to limit their exposure to media and social media accounts of the killings.
