Colorado Academy Senior Alison Scalzo is being honored as a Volunteer of the Month for her ongoing work with children with cancer. Alison is a regular volunteer at Brent's Place, a non-profit agency that serves children and their families. “She has been incredible, and we are so lucky to have her regularly volunteer for Brent's Place,” said the organization's Community Outreach Coordinator. Alison volunteers on Movie Nights at Brent's Place, treating the children to popcorn and cookies. Brent’s Place has remained the only hospital approved “Safe-Clean” housing facility for immune-compromised patients and their families, providing a living environment that is essential to healing and recovery. Brent’s Place, a program and facility created by the Brent Eley Foundation, bridges the gap between the hospital and going home.
