Learning and Sharing about Schools of the Future

At the recent National Association of Independent Schools gathering in Washington, DC, I not only joined in to learn all that I could at the conference, but I had the honor of presenting a workshop for others on 21st century visions and initiatives.  My co-presenters included an impressive line-up of Jonathan Martin of St. Gregory College Preparatory School (and my alma mater) in Arizona, Mark Hale from Greensboro Day School in North Carolina, and Ken Key, co-founder of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills and now CEO of EdLeader21, (view his website and watch his video here: www.edleader21.com ) a professional learning think tank and consulting group for 21st century education leaders. It was a tremendous opportunity to share and discuss CA’s efforts as outlined in our Strategic Plan, and to take a great deal of pride in the innovative and creative work being done on our campus. It also is invigorating to see the exciting things happening in other top schools nationwide as they grow and change, just as CA is doing, to best prepare students for tomorrow. I hope you will join me on Thursday, March 17 at 8:30 a.m. in the Sadler Room of the Campus Center for an All-School Parent Association Meeting for a presentation on some of these changes. At that time, I will outline some significant changes to CA’s daily schedule for the coming year that will allow for deeper understanding and a higher quality educational experience for our students.
