These two great articles published recently in the NYT give insight into the challenges of seeking authenticity and that "good match" in the sea of college marketing. Highly recommended reading-- the 2nd piece sums up much of the current landscape of college admissions. The bottom line to both articles? Be yourself, dig deeper, and don't believe the hype. The "good fit" is something that you grow into once you enroll at an institution, not something you are going to find waiting for you at the front gates of the college-- enjoy the search and know that there are many great places where you could thrive.
