I am energized whenever I connect with members of our alumni community. We are fortunate to have so many alumni who are enthusiastic supporters of Colorado Academy, and although the school has changed over the years and will continue to evolve, there are defining aspects of the institution that remain constant.

Last weekend, I met with the Alumni Board in downtown Denver. Since they have experienced a CA education first-hand, they have a valuable perspective on those meaningful “constants” in our school community. As we began our meeting, the alumni went around the room and shared with me the things that they value most about Colorado Academy. They noted things like:

• The strong sense of community that exists at CA

• The amazing teachers

• The support given to each student to follow his or her passions

• The sense of balance inherent in the school mission

• The reality that a student can participate in everything

• The fond memories of representing the school on the athletic field

• An appreciation of the value of the arts in one's life

• The wonderful physical setting of CA’s pastoral campus

• The strong emphasis on writing

• The fact that being a student at CA makes you part of a family

We hope to see you at the many Homecoming events that are taking place this weekend. If you see alumni at the carnival or sporting event, be sure to welcome them and take a moment to listen to their stories and memories. They are part of our collective history and part of what makes our community and our past such a strong foundation for our future.
