Parent Workshop: Understanding Emotional Escalation

By Angie Crabtree
Dear Lower School Families,
  • Are you looking for ideas on how to regulate your child faster?
  • Do you want to have a better idea as to when to comfort your child and when to set firm boundaries?
  • Have you ever had a moment during your child’s emotional escalation where you know you made it worse and wish you could do something different?
Understanding the general escalation cycle of people and how to respond at the different stages will allow you to proactively respond to lower, medium, and high levels of emotion and be able to help the person get back to a regulated state quicker.

We will discuss the different stages of emotional escalation, how you should respond depending on which stage your child is in, and dive deeper into your child’s specific signs of their personal escalation cycle.

Join Angie Crabtree and Brooke Hamman on Friday, April 7, 8:30-10:00 a.m. or Wednesday, April 26, 2:00-3:30 p.m. We will review the Escalation Cycle and also begin thinking about how to prepare your child for the summer and the upcoming grade level.

Workshop Location: Sadler Room in the Campus Center
Zoom is not available due to the interactive part of this workshop.
