Excitement Leading up to Winter Break

By Max Delgado
Winter Break is right around the corner, and you can feel the excitement building among the students as the days pass.

We’ve had a fabulous first half of the year at the Upper School, having welcomed the Class of 2026 and watched the Class of 2023 launch into their Senior year.

This weekend we will celebrate HOPE, a long-standing student-run event that seeks to offer support and goods for under-resourced families in the Denver area. CA students have been working tirelessly on this event, collecting donations, and speaking to—and rallying—the faculty and their fellow classmates to help with all the details.

As Dr. Davis has shared, next week each division will close the week with a special schedule that not only commemorates the start of a break but offers a chance for Grandparents & Special Friends to see a little bit of CA’s magic in person. Here at the Upper School, we will suspend regular classes and focus instead on bonding and fun. Following this special schedule, we will run a talent show (organized by the CA students on the Community Council) and build gingerbread houses in advisories.

Those of us who’ve worked in schools know that these small interruptions in regular programming can have a strong impact on school spirit—and create precious shared memories in the community.

Have a great weekend.
