Halloween Wrap-up and Preparing for Winter Weather

By Angie Crabtree
Dear Lower School Families,

Thank you for joining us last week for the Halloween Parade! We loved having our community together on such a wonderful day.

On Monday, October 31, Student Council led us in an all Lower School dance at Town Meeting. Each grade level had a different dance move, as we all moved and grooved together. For a special surprise, we had the very famous Lucky Charm treats at lunch! And at recess, students had an opportunity to visit the Halloween Photo Booth if they elected to do so. Photos can be found here:

IMPORTANT REMINDER from the LS Handbook –
Required Leg Coverage and Big 5 for Cold Weather:
Beginning on November 28 (post-Thanksgiving) to March 27 (post-Spring Break), Lower School students are required to wear long pants or leggings/tights at all times and to wear a jacket or heavy sweatshirt when going outside.

On snowy days when there is outdoor recess and sledding, students are required to wear the Big 5: jacket, gloves/mittens, hat, snow pants, and boots in order to play in the snow. Please pay attention to morning weather reports—and err on the side of caution—so your child will not be caught at school unprepared for sudden changes. Except under the most extreme weather conditions, children play outdoors every day. Closed-toe shoes should be worn each day to school, so that students may safely enjoy recess and Physical Education classes.

We have 20 new sleds in storage waiting for the first big snow!

Have a wonderful weekend!
