Lower School FAMILIES program, dress-up days, more

By Angie Crabtree
Dear Lower School Families,

What a wonderful week of mild temperatures and outdoor play!

FAMILIES
We launch the FAMILIES program today. A FAMILY consists of one adult and a student from each grade level (K through Grade 5). A FAMILY will typically have 7-8 members and will remain together during a student’s experience in the Lower School. The goal of the program is to connect students across the grade levels, provide an adult mentor for each student, and provide older students an opportunity to lead and support younger students. Community service will be a common thread throughout each meet-up, and each FAMILY is completing the same activity during their time together.

Upcoming Conference Days: October 13 and 14
The Lower School faculty are looking forward to the upcoming conference days on October 13 and 14. We appreciate your efforts to meet with faculty to review your child’s progress and establish goals for the upcoming trimester in person. Please be on time for your conference and report directly to your child’s classroom. There is no need to sign in to the Lower School office. The double-door entrances will be open.

Students should not play on the playground or outdoor play spaces without your adult supervision. Students may attend Lower School After Care or sit quietly outside the classroom while waiting for you.

October 12 – Dress-Up Day
Student Council is sponsoring a Dress-Up Day next week. See the flyer for details. It will be a fun day together!

October 28 – Halloween Parade
Students wear their costumes to school or wear their favorite outfit. Parents are invited to attend the Halloween Parade at 2:30 p.m. We will have a space for parents to sit and view the parade. Once we finish the parade and dancing, we will invite parents to join us on the field for the popsicle party. We will wrap up the parade by 3:20 p.m.

October 31 – Halloween Day
Student Council has a day full of fun and festivities planned for the day! It’s going to be a day full of festive fun!

Kind regards and happy fall weekend!
Angie
