Learning at first Lower School Town Meeting
Dear Lower School Families,
What a marvelous week! It was so amazing to be at school together!
Lower School Town Meeting
We had a wonderful Lower School Town Meeting on Thursday. During our time together, we met:
- Jerel Dalrymple, Director of Custodial Services, and Nelly. Mr. Dalrymple shared how each of us can assist in taking care of our classrooms and campus. He also led us in a wonderful quiz of “Recycle-Compost-Landfill” about items in our school community.
- Julia Shoun, Andrew Kirshbaum, and Miriah Medina, Members of Campus Safety and Security. They shared our safety and security procedures on campus and what they do at CA each day.
- Brooke Hamman, LS Counselor. Mrs. Hamman reviewed our problem-solving strategies and how we identify and share our feelings with one another. We also learned several regulation strategies to help us manage our emotions throughout each day.
We also reviewed the Formative Five focus for the year:
- Empathy: I understand and share what someone else is thinking and feeling.
- Self Control: I am in charge of my emotions, thoughts, words, and actions.
- Integrity: I choose to do the right thing, even when no one is looking.
- Grit: I step out of my comfort zone, risk failing, but I never give up.
- Embracing Diversity: I appreciate myself and celebrate the differences among all people.

Car Line Reminder for Kindergarten through Grade 5
We are asking that parents and guardians remain in their vehicles during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. When someone gets out of their car, it impacts the flow of our procedures for beginning and ending the day.
