Great learning week

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
This was a full week of learning as we turn the corner toward May. On Wednesday, we had Level UP, a program designed to introduce our students to different perspectives and lived experiences. This year, Enyi Jama shared her experience as a refugee from Somalia. In the process, she helped students gain empathy about what it might be like to move from their homes, live six years in a refugee camp, and eventually be relocated to Denver. Hers was an inspiring and thoughtful story of overcoming obstacle after obstacle.

In addition, Thursday and Friday have been this year’s Arts Fest. Hats off to our arts teachers who have gone over the top to create a hands-on experience for ALL of our students at CA.  Creativity and making art is such an integrated and integral aspect of our program, and these two days put an exclamation mark on why our arts program influences our students and school so positively.

Next Wednesday is Interim Afternoon, a time for each of our groups to meet and conduct final preparations for our adventures.  If your child is participating in an Interim that has an overnight component, please join us on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. for our parent overview meetings, our chance as leaders to share a bit more about our program and the experience students will enjoy.  Forbes Cone has sent out additional information about these meetings that you can access here
