FIRST Middle School Social and other items of note

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
On Friday, April 8, from 7–9 p.m., the MS Student Council is hosting a social. The theme is “Neon Disco.”  Can you beat that?! The social will be in the Campus Center. There will be snacks, drinks, raffles, movies, dancing, and fun. We hope to see lots of students there. Parents, it is a great help if pick-up could be right on time at 9 p.m. Thanks.

Also, now that we can get together in person on campus (or by Zoom), I am looking forward to hosting my final “Open Door Morning” on Friday, April 22.  While my door is figuratively always open to parents to give me a ring, set up an appointment, or just chat, I try to set aside a few mornings for a 20-minute conversation on any topic that is important to you. (Sometimes parents simply come in to get to know me a little bit better.) Should you like to set up a time (in person or via Zoom) please send Helen Romero, the Middle School administrative assistant, an email at helen.romero@coloradoacademy.org

Finally, just a friendly reminder that we are all about in-person school. We only offer students the opportunity to audit via Zoom if they are either isolating with COVID-19 or home ill for more than three days. Should a child be ill for a shorter duration, CA wants the priority to be on their resting and getting better. If they feel well enough, they can go online and keep up with the posted homework. Once healthy, it can be a really good experience for students to go through the process of catching up and meeting with teachers.

If you have any questions, or if I can be helpful in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best,
Bill
