Hitting the Parent Reset Button

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
Thanks to everyone who joined us at our Parent Association Meeting on Tuesday. I have attached our agenda, which includes some dates and contacts for FUN parent activities. Kate MacKenzie, our wonderful school counselor, was our keynote speaker. She shared eloquently about what we are noticing about the impact of COVID-19 on our students, the ways we are trying to help each child develop necessary skills, and how parents can do their best to thread the needle between offering important support and encouraging increased independence. Her slides can be found here.

We also had a Town Meeting this week. I shared with the kids that I am very pleased with their efforts to support one another and grow as students. I also pointed out that, as a community, we can keep working to do a better job of picking up after ourselves at lunch. This is an important way that we take care of ourselves, the community, and our environment.

In the breaking news category: Student Council shared with each advisory their plan for checking break equipment (balls, Frisbees, etc.) in and out. The new system debuted today and seems to be working nicely. Thank you Student Council!

If I can be helpful in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best,
Bill
