Join us for SPEAK with Kate MacKenzie on Tuesday

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
All,

I hope you will join us for our Parent Association meeting next Tuesday, October 19, at 9:30 a.m. in the Sadler Room of the Campus Center. As we have done previously, we will also make this meeting available by Zoom at this link:

Meeting ID: 981 3797 6373
Passcode: MSPA

Kate MacKenzie, our school counselor, is our featured speaker. Kate, as many of you know, is a fantastic resource for students and families. Her topic is “Hitting the Parenting ‘Reset Button.’”   RSVP for the SPEAK event now. With everything we have all been through during the last 15 months, it is important to take a moment to reflect on how the pandemic has affected us as parents and how we can self-consciously calibrate our parenting to ensure that our kids are developing the skills and independence that will set their course toward successful young adulthood. As always, we will begin with Parent Association announcements and a brief question and answer session with me. I have put the full description of Kate’s presentation below.

If you have any questions, or if I can be helpful in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best,
Bill

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPEAK: Hitting the Parenting “Reset Button”
Tuesday, October 19, 2021, 9:30-10:45 a.m. – Sadler Room in the Campus Center

While the pandemic is far from over globally, we have the opportunity to “reset” some of our parenting norms to capture the “new normal.” Join Kate MacKenzie, Middle School counselor, for a presentation on parenting strategies that support the development of executive function and age-appropriate independence for Middle School students.
