Back-to-School Night plus a few updates

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
Thanks for coming to Back-to-School Night last week. It was a great turnout, and our teachers enjoyed having the chance, hopefully, to get you as excited as they are about the learning that is going to happen this year. It is a BIG evening for us, so we appreciate the efforts all of you made to attend.

Today, I would like to give you a few updates:
  • Eighth Grade Backpacking Trip: Weather permitting, we depart next Wednesday and return on Friday. We are hoping that this is going to be a great learning experience for all of our students. Details about the trip have been sent to parents.
  • Seventh Grade Advisory Retreat: Our Seventh Grade will be going to Lair o' the Bear for a full day Advisory Retreat on Thursday, September 30. We believe it will be a nice opportunity to build community within each advisory. Additional information has been sent to parents.
  • New way to let the school know your child will be absent: If your child is ill, please use this email—msattendance@coloradoacademy.org—to let the school know. The email will go to Helen and to me. Please also include the child’s advisor on the communication. This will bring the Middle School in line with the way this information is shared in the Lower and Upper Schools. Thanks.
  • The late bus is not for Middle School students: Just a reminder that for safety reasons, Middle School students may NOT ride the late bus. If a child must remain on campus after 3:50 p.m., each should report to our After School Program headed by Ms. Rosberg. Middle School students are never allowed to be on campus unsupervised. Note: there is a small hourly fee for this service.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.  Should you have any questions, or if I can be of service, please do not hesitate to be in touch.

Best,
Bill
