Looking forward to a grand reunion of fun and celebration

By Angie Crabtree
Dear Lower School Families,

The countdown is on, and we cannot wait to welcome our students into the Lower School on Monday, August 23, for the Meet and Greet. Please remind your child to bring a family photo (no larger than 5 x 7) on Monday or Tuesday. We are excited to celebrate all of our Lower School families this year! The Hall of Families will be hanging soon for everyone to see!

Join me today at 2 p.m., via Zoom, to learn more about our Lower School return to school, as well as an opportunity for Q & A. This session is designed to provide students and parents with information about our beginning to the school. You may register here.

The Meet and Greet for students, parents, and teachers is scheduled for Monday, August 23, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Lower School students are invited to their classrooms to meet their teachers and classmates. We ask that everyone enter and exit the Lower School classrooms through the exterior classroom doors to reduce large gatherings in the hallways. Each exterior door is labeled with the teacher’s name and grade. We will have an opportunity for everyone to create a name tag too. Everyone should wear a mask indoors.

The All-School Picnic will follow the classroom visitations and will be hosted in the CA Sculpture Garden beginning at 5 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends and welcome our new community members.

Our Playground Dedication Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 25, at 8:30 a.m. We look forward to dedicating our new play spaces to Leslie Webster and remembering the joy and love that she shared with so many of us. If you plan to join us, please park in an available space and come to the outdoor play spaces. You may join the audience in the grassy area.

Reminders:
  • Each student should bring a water bottle (labeled with their name) to school each day.
  • CA Connects Forms are due to the classroom teacher no later than Wednesday, August 25.
  • Install your car line (last name) sign if you will be entering the afternoon pick-up lines next week. And, if you need more signs, we are more than happy to make those for you and send them home with your child.
  • Wear a mask to school and bring a second mask with you each day.

I cannot wait to see all of you next week! It is going to be a grand reunion of fun and celebration!
