Hurray for grandparents and grandfriends

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
Thanks to all of the grandparents and grandfriends making time to join us today. Truth be told, Grandparents Day holds a special place for me, because it was one of my mother’s favorite days. Once my brothers and I became too old for her to attend our classes, she became the “grandparent of choice” for all of the neighborhood kids who didn’t have “real” grandparents who lived nearby. This kept her busy taking care of young people each fall and spring. Boy, did she love it!

It is always wonderful to have grandparents join classes and, this year, to give them a taste of what school has been like during the pandemic. I can tell you, we have a lot of lucky kids who have committed and caring grandparents. I look forward to sharing a bit about our program and aspirations. It will be a fun day.

I would like to remind our students and their parents that this is a NO HOMEWORK vacation. I hope that this means that everyone gets a bit of time to relax, enjoy each other’s company, read a good book, and recharge. That is certainly my plan.

Thanks, as always, for your support this week; we had a bit of a curve ball thrown our way with the deep snow, but once again, we came up with a plan and pulled together to create a fine week filled with learning.

Enjoy the vacation and please be safe!

Best,
Bill
