All together…FINALLY

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
Wednesday was a highlight of the year to date because we were together on campus. The “trick,” of course, will be staying that way. We are reminding the kids to stay at least 3 feet apart and to ALWAYS wear their masks. We also appreciate how careful parents are being about illness and quarantining after trips. This makes a huge difference. Of course, we will also need to count on the vaccine being distributed briskly and a bit of luck. It felt like a REAL school this week. Thanks, everyone.

Next Friday, we have a ThinkingLAB Parent Association meeting. Each year we try to help parents get a “feel” for how we bring the 6Cs to life in the classroom. This year our focus is on math. These are “hands-on and minds-on" workshops and limited to just a few parents. Our hope, though, is that the session gives insight into how we try to help kids, in this case, love math and grow as problem solvers and collaborators. Here is the info:

Middle School SPEAK EVENT
ThinkingLAB Workshop: “Loving Math and Problem Solving,” Middle School Math Team
Friday, February 12, 2021, at 9:45 a.m., via Zoom
Each year the Middle School offers a window into our efforts to help students learn to think critically and problem solve. This year our focus will be on our math program. This is a hands-on workshop for twenty, so please come ready to roll up your mathematical and logical sleeves. Registration required to attend this Zoom event. Register here.
*Note: This event will have a maximum of 20 attendees.

This is also a no homework weekend, as we want the kids to “power down” and relax a bit with family and friends. If I can be helpful in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best,
Bill
