Way to go team!

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
Not that I feel compelled to grade everything, but if I were so inclined, I would give the kids, parents and teachers an “A” for navigating the quick U-turn to go remote yesterday.  Our goal is to have learning be the constant with how it is delivered be the variable – in person, hybrid, or remote.  This was a great example of getting that done and on short notice to boot.

I continue to be impressed with our students.  As the survey indicated, they are truly putting their best foot forward in class and are putting forward excellent effort on the whole.  Online can be challenging for our students, for sure, AND the kids are practicing their ability to channel their attention, focus on what is most important, and get the job done.

The highlight of the week for me was seeing all of the kids at school during our Rocky and Mustang days.  Big smiles to be back at school and to see their friends!

With a week to go before Winter Break, I encourage you to consider what might be a fun family read or listen.  Middle School kids may pretend that they are too old to be read to (or to read/listen with), but that isn’t the case.  Choosing a family book to read together or to listen to leads to great conversations and a wonderful shared experience.  If you need help finding just the right book or book on tape, our Middle School librarian, Allie Bronston, and her team are here to help.

I hope everyone enjoys the weekend.  As always, if I can be helpful in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best,
Bill
