Let's all stay diligent with safety measures

By Angie Crabtree
Dear Lower School Families,

We are very excited to dress up and celebrate Halloween together today! At the conclusion of the on campus, outdoor parade, we will have a Lower School popsicle party to end the day!

As we close out the tenth week of in-person learning at the Lower School, I want to share the faculty and staff’s strong desire for us to remain open. We love each day with our students, even in the midst of all the safety procedures implemented this year. As the rates of infection and hospitalizations are increasing in Colorado, we remain diligent and focused each day on our mitigation strategies of wearing masks, washing hands, distancing from one another, and cleaning frequently. I want to urge each family to consider the activities you are choosing beyond the school day for your children and limit sleepovers, playdates, and gatherings. This week, we saw an increase of Lower School students with suspected exposures, and our numbers of overall CA quarantined students have increased this week. We need your help to keep our school open!

If your child is symptomatic of an illness or will be in quarantine for a period of time, we ask that you email the classroom teacher, Ms. McKnight, and me. We will initiate a protocol with you relating to the transition process to remote learning that includes materials pick-up, a remote learning schedule, and additional details relating to being a remote learner.

Having a remote learner requires a great deal of planning and organization for a Lower School classroom teacher and the specialist teachers. The classroom teacher and specialist teacher will need one day to prepare materials and a remote login schedule so your child is prepared to join the class remotely. Please know that we are working hard to provide the best learning environment for our students at school and at home, and we appreciate your help in making in-person learning possible each day.

Thank you for your continued partnership during this extraordinary kind of year!
