Work hard and be kind

By Bill Wolf-Tinsman
Great first week! It was very helpful to have advisory meetings on Monday, as it helped everyone get off to a super start on the first day of virtual school. As expected, there were a couple of technical glitches for individual students, but those were quickly resolved with the help of our tech department.

At our Kick Off the Year Town Meeting, I emphasized how important it will be for ALL of us to do two things:
  1. Try our best (work hard on a daily basis)
  2. Try to be the best people that we can be each day (kind and courageous)
If kids (and adults) do those two things consistently, good things tend to happen. None of us is perfect, but collectively, we can build a supportive and inclusive community.

It was also fun this week to have our first Parent Association meeting. We had great attendance, 50+, and it gave me the chance to share out a bit about how it is going and ways that we plan to support our students this year. I have attached the slides from the meeting here.

One of the things I emphasized at the meeting is how important communication is likely to be this year. Please reach out to your advisor or me should we be able to be supportive in some way.

I am already looking forward to next week. Enjoy the weekend.

Best,
Bill
