Parents invited to share observations about child's optimal learning environment

By Angie Crabtree
Dear Lower School Families,

Thank you for your continued feedback and support on the distance learning platform. The faculty and I continue to be so thankful for your partnership.

Every year at this time the Lower School turns its attention to the process of placing its students in their respective classes for the next year. This process begins now and is finished in August when we publish the class rosters and the teacher assignments. We will create rosters with balanced classes in as many ways as is possible. In this process there is a part for parents who wish to participate as well. You may write me a letter in the next two weeks sharing any observations that you have about the learning environment in which you think your child would most flourish. We are interested in any thoughts that you might have on that topic.

This is not an invitation for you to have input in the specific teacher match with your child; it is simply an opportunity to participate in the process of sharing your observations about your child’s optimal learning environment. I strongly encourage you NOT to request a particular teacher, as those requests will not be acknowledged. All letters relating to your child’s personality, any friendship concerns, and learning environment will remain confidential and should be submitted to me no later than May 1. Thank you for your participation in the process or for accepting that the process will work without your input.

I am hopeful that you are able to unplug and enjoy family time together this weekend.

Kind regards,
Angie Crabtree
